Invitation for “Henk van de Hulst: Legacy Celebration”

From November 5–9, 2018 the Hendrik van de Hulst Centennial Symposium “The Interstellar Medium of Galaxies: Status and Future Perspectives” will take place at the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave in Leiden. Details can be found at: Van de Hulst.

To commemorate Henk’s unique contributions to astronomical research, we intend to organize during this symposium a special session:

“Henk van de Hulst: Legacy Celebration”

on Wednesday 7 November 2018

starting at 1:15 PM at the Boerhaave Museum in Leiden.

Contributions to this session will highlight in particular Henk’s legacy in 21-cm line radio astronomy, in space astronomy and of course in his favorite subject: light scattering by small particles. Speakers include: Tim de Zeeuw, Johan Bleeker, Raffaella Morganti, Frans Snik and Rogier Windhorst.

The presentations will end around 4:30 PM, afterwards drinks will be served during an informal gathering, the session will close at 6 PM. We cordially invite you to attend this special session to pay tribute to Henk’s pivotal role in the development of Dutch astronomy and space research. A detailed program will be issued in due time.

The number of seats available at the Boerhaave Museum is quite limited, therefore we shall have to treat the registrations on a “first come first serve” basis.
